Description

The job of the group of adventurers was to find out why so many people disappeared in the dark forest. They supposed an easy enemy, a gang of robbers or marauders. But finally they stumbled over a place where a lot of human bones laid scattered around on the ground and as they stepped on some of the weird circles on the ground they solved the riddle in a few seconds and the fight became suddenly much harder than they had expected...

Inspired by the movie "Eight Legged Freaks" and again by The Star are Right by :iconrjlbwb:

I still got it not with posing spiders, because i work too much with Sucuriju and his totally flexible body. So the spiders legs seems stiff and unflexible to me. After Itsy Bitsy Spider this was my second spider-work. I hope, it turned out a little bit better this time, but i am still not completely satisfied with the posing of the spider legs.

Technical side:
Ground, spider burrows and trapdoors modeled in Hexagon 2.5, loaded into DAZ-Studio and textured with the ground-texture of the old DAZ Fairy Forest-set.
No much post-production in Paint Shop Pro X here: Only correction of some minor errors and poke-throughs and adding of some plants/grass. Some discreet light-effects added in PSP X too.
Rendered with raytraced shadows in 4000x2500 pixel on my new computer. Time: 90 minutes...WOW! My old system would probably need a week for it... But i guess, it would not load on my old system or crash immediately due its size anyway.

One..Two..Three..Four. Now you see them, now you don't. Seems this "fight" was over before it began. In a few weeks their bones will join the rest strewn about on the ground. The spiders will have had a filling meal in the meantime.

Just love your artwork, depicting a more realistic scenes and outcomes of what would happen in real nature. Thanks for that!
